Post House Mount Pleasant Changes Ownership, Indigo Road Takes Over May 1

Big news out of Old Village:

One of Mount Pleasant’s most beloved restaurants and inns is changing hands — but don’t worry, it’s not going anywhere.
Post House, the award-winning boutique hotel and restaurant led for the past six years by Ben and Kate Towill of Basic Projects, is officially being sold to Indigo Road Hospitality Group — the Charleston-based team behind favorites like O-Ku, Indaco, and Oak Steakhouse.
The sale is expected to close May 1, and while the Towills are stepping away to focus on new ventures, Indigo Road’s leadership is promising to keep everything locals love about Post House intact. That includes the staff, the look and feel, and the community-centric charm that has made the Post House a staple in the Old Village.
“Kate and Ben have created an incredible place ... Our intention is to leave it the same,” said Indigo Road’s founder, Steve Palmer.
This transition follows Indigo Road’s recent move to take over operations at Edmund’s Oast, and it marks the group's 35th restaurant. Palmer emphasized that these acquisitions are not part of a broader takeover strategy — just thoughtful opportunities to continue great hospitality.
The Towills, meanwhile, plan to refocus on Basic Kitchen and other design projects, including updates to the space, a new events room, and new dishes on the way.
Post House will remain open during the transition, and the vibe? It’s staying the same — just with a new team at the helm.
📍 Post House Inn is located at 101 Pitt Street, Mount Pleasant.
